  • The Confucius Institute at 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁϳԹÏ, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute Office at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), successfully hosted two transformative Winter Schools this January. Running from 13–24 January 2025, the programmes brought together over 120 students eager to enhance their skills in critical thinking, academic writing, and British cultural studies.

  • 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁϳԹÏ’s Confucius Institute hosted a one-week online Chinese language and culture summer school from July 22nd to July 26th.

    Each day included two Mandarin lessons, a Chinese culture lesson, and time to work on a chosen project. On the final day, the students presented their superb projects and enjoyed a three-round quiz demonstrating how much they had learned over the week.

    We received brilliant feedback!

  • The Confucius Institute at 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁϳԹÏ, in collaboration with the Office of Confucius Institute of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), has successfully concluded its fourth annual Online Summer School on English Language and Culture. This year’s program once again provided an immersive and enriching experience for CUPL students seeking to enhance their English skills and deepen their understanding of British culture.

    "We are thrilled to continue offering this unique educational opportunity for the fourth year in a row," said Dr. Lina Davitt, Director of the Confucius Institute at 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁϳԹÏ. "Our summer school is designed to not only enhance participants' English language proficiency but also to provide a deep and meaningful understanding of British culture, which is essential for anyone looking to engage with the UK on any level."

    Students from CUPL have praised the program for its high-quality content, expert instruction by Anthony Brooks, the lecturer of the course, and the invaluable cultural insights gained. The online format ensures accessibility for all, allowing learners to join all the way from China.

  • The Confucius Institute at 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and the Office of the Confucius Institute at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) are pleased to announce the successful completion of a two-week online summer school on critical thinking, held from July 1st to July 12th. This collaborative initiative aimed to enrich the intellectual landscape of participating students through an engaging exploration of critical thinking across various domains.

    During the programme, students addressed thought-provoking topics such as "What is Real?", "Personal Identity", "Free Will", and other philosophical inquiries that challenge conventional wisdom. Anthony Brooks of the English Language Centre for Foreign Students (ELCOS) designed and delivered the curriculum to foster analytical skills, encourage open dialogue, and broaden perspectives on these timeless philosophical questions.

    Beyond academic exploration, the summer school also facilitated cultural exchange and strengthened academic bonds between CUPL and 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁϳԹÏ. Participants lauded the program for its enriching content, interactive sessions, and the opportunity to connect with peers and experts from diverse backgrounds.

  • In continuation of the successful summer course, 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁϳԹÏ's Confucius Institute joined forces with the China University of Political Science and Law to co-host an engaging online Winter school aimed at advancing critical thinking skills. The program, held from January 22nd to 31st, 2024, was designed to cultivate students' ability to process and analyse information critically, fostering an essential skill set applicable to various aspects of life beyond academic pursuits.

  • This intensive program, held from 8 to 12 January, aimed to enhance language proficiency and foster a deep understanding of English culture among participating students. Throughout the Winter School, students engaged in a dynamic curriculum designed to strengthen their language skills and immerse them in the rich tapestry of English culture. Participants had the opportunity to interact with Anthony Brooks, an experienced educator and native English speaker, gaining valuable insights into language and cultural nuances. The Winter School not only focused on academic aspects but also encouraged cross-cultural exchange, creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.
