The University is pleased to introduce our new Staff Wellbeing Champions as an additional means for staff to access support and information about wellbeing.
Please see details below to identify who is the Champion within your own Directorate or School.
A key element of creating Positive Environments as detailed in the University鈥檚 Health and Wellbeing Strategy is to:
鈥淐reate a culture in which we can talk openly about health and wellbeing鈥 and to 鈥渕ake it easy for staff to engage with provision 鈥 with clear signposting to resources鈥.
Staff Wellbeing Champions will play a vital role in connecting you to both internal and external sources of support, as well as in promoting wellbeing activities and sharing health information at a local level. They have received training for this role and will continue to be supported with input and guidance on up-to-date wellbeing resources. Your conversations with them will be in confidence (except in the case of any safeguarding concerns) and you can be assured of an encouraging and empathetic response.
We hope that colleagues will feel free to contact their local Champion for an informal, confidential chat and to get involved in activities being organised within schools and directorates to promote wellbeing.
Recruitment is ongoing (dependent on roles filled per department). If you are interested in becoming a Wellbeing Champion, please contact staffhealthandwellbeing@bangor.ac.uk
