Making a Disclosure and Accessing Advice and Support

The Student Casework Team

The Student Casework Team are specially trained to respond to disclosures of sexual misconduct, violence and harassment, hate crime and racial abuse and can provide reporting options and signpost to students to support. In addition, members of staff within the Student Wellbeing Service are also trained to receive disclosures and can advise on a number of other issues.

The Wellbeing Service

The Wellbeing Service is part of the Student Support and Wellbeing Service based within Student Services. We have professionally qualified counsellors, mental health professionals and information specialists that are experienced in helping students to deal with all kinds of practical and emotional issues such as study related matters, trauma, relationships, emotional regulation, mental health disability related issues, accessibility, harassment, inclusion and much more.

'Live Fear Free'

Providing help and advice about violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence, the Welsh Government run campaign provides a free and confidential helpline.

Amethyst (the North Wales Sexual Assault Referral Centre)

Amethyst is an organisation of specially trained professionals who give help, support and information to individuals who have been raped or sexually assaulted, whether recently or in the past. Amethyst can provide services and advice without any obligation to report a crime and you can also access screening for sexually transmitted infections through their service. The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (North Wales)

provides independent specialist support to enable people to work through their experience of rape and/or sexual violence. The offers a helpline and practical and emotional support for anyone who has experienced or been affected by any form of abuse during their childhood.
