Graduate Outcomes Survey

Welcome to the Graduate Outcomes Survey page.

This page provides further information about the Graduate Outcomes Survey. The page is updated regularly, so please come back often.

What is the Graduate Outcomes Survey?

The Graduate Outcomes survey is a national survey capturing information about the activities and perspectives of graduates 15 months after they finish their studies.  The survey is managed and run by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).

All graduates who completed a course at 91¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï will be invited to take part in the survey.  Your participation in the survey is important as your responses will help our current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development as well as help us to evaluate, plan and promote our courses, services and facilities.

The survey is also of national significance as it allows policy makers, charities, journalists, researchers and others to understand the higher education sector and the state of the graduate labour market.

When will I be surveyed?

You will be surveyed approximately 15 months after you complete your studies.

How will I be surveyed?

You will receive an email from HESA inviting you to complete the survey online.  HESA may also contact you by telephone and ask you to complete the survey over the phone.  If you are not contactable, HESA may seek the information from a third party, such as a family member.

How will my responses be used?

Before you start the survey, HESA will provide detailed information about how your data will be processed, who will receive it, and what they will use it for.

HESA will share your responses with us and we will use it for evaluation, planning, marketing and recruitment purposes.

What if I don’t want to be surveyed?

It is not compulsory to complete the survey.  When you are contacted by HESA, you will be able to opt out and you will not be contacted again.  You can only opt-out of the Graduate Outcomes Survey through HESA.

However, we really hope you will take part in the survey as we’d like to learn more about your activities and perspectives after you graduate.  The information you provide will help shape our courses, services and facilities for the future.

How do I make sure I am invited to take part in the survey?

We will pass on your contact information to HESA.  All you need to do is make sure we have accurate contact information for you – especially a valid email address.

To update your contact information, please contact: graduateoutcomes@bangor.ac.uk

What do I do if I don’t think you have my accurate contact information?

You can contact us at any point up to a week before the survey closes to provide revised contact information.  We will pass on this information to HESA.  To update your contact information, please contact: graduateoutcomes@bangor.ac.uk

What do I do if I don’t want to give you my contact information?

We are required to share your contact information with HESA for the purposes of conducting the Graduate Outcomes Survey.  This was explained to you during enrolment and registration.

Your contact information will only be used by HESA to send you the survey.  As noted above, it is not compulsory to complete the survey.  When you are contacted by HESA, you will be able to opt out and you will not be contacted again.

Further information about how we handle and use your personal information is available in the Student Data Protection Statement.

What is HESA?

HESA supports the advancement of the higher education sector by collecting and publishing timely and reliable data about the sector.

Where can I find further information?

We will provide further information about the survey shortly before you are invited to complete it.
