Hands-on data analytics and programming workshops, introducing vital digital skills in a practical, engaging way for students years 12–13.
Investment Challenge
A fast-paced trading simulation that develops teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making under pressure. For students in year 12.
Aspirational Leadership Workshops
Fun, motivating sessions that build confidence, unlock ambition, and plant the seeds of future success. For students years 9–11.
6th Form Conferences
More than lectures — these dynamic, hands-on conferences feature inspirational workshops where students experience university learning in action, connect with government, industry experts, professional bodies and explore the wide range of opportunities higher education can offer.

- 6th Form Conferences (Welsh Government): Engaging workshops and interactive sessions that bring higher education to life.
- STEM Projects (STEM Cymru): Showcasing the digital, problem-solving, and innovative elements of our programmes — while encouraging more girls to explore business.
- Accounting Futures (ICAEW): Opening up pathways into the accounting profession and highlighting the wide variety of careers it offers.
Together, these collaborations help students build confidence, raise aspirations, and see higher education as a pathway to exciting futures.
Activities
Investment Challenge June 2025
On Friday, 27th June we welcomed A level students to the Investment Challenge for an engaging, hands-on experience.
Students toured the university and visited the trading room, where they learnt about the value of Bloomberg terminals and trading within investment banks.
Investment Challenge Prize Winner
Daniel Twigge from Ysgol Bodedern was awarded the prize for participation in the Investment Challenge.
This hands-on experience offered a real insight into the fast-paced world of trading.
Discover Data Conference March 2025
We welcomed year 11, 12 and 13 students from schools in North Wales and immersed them in the fast-paced world of business data analytics.
The conference featured expert speakers from The Welsh Government, Google, and other leading organisations, offering insights into how data is transforming business.
